Solvarmebeholderen.dk supplies mantle
tanks for small domestic solar-powered water heating systems.
Since the early 1990s, mantle tanks used in combination with low flow*
operation in the solar collector loop have been shown to provide better
thermal
performance than traditional spiral tanks used in combination with high
flow operation in the solar collector loop.
Solvarmebeholderen.dk manufactures mantle tanks to take full advantage
of this documented superior performance. Our aim is to make mantle
tanks the standard choice for small solar-powered heating systems.
Solvarmebeholderen.dk’s heat storage tanks are available in two
sizes: 165 l and 300 l. They are manufactured in high-quality stainless
steel, using the latest know-how.
The thermal performance of a solar heating system with a mantle tank is
approx. 20% larger than the thermal performance of a similar solar
heating system using a spiral tank.
The increased
thermal performance of a mantle tank is the result of very good thermal
stratification with high temperatures in the top of
the tank and low temperatures in the bottom of the tank, which results
in:
Lower
auxiliary energy consumption, because the hot
water is already present in the top of the tank.
Longer operation time of the pump in the
solar
collector loop during the day and throughout the year, because of the
low temperatures in the bottom of the tank.
Other advantages:
- Less lime deposit
- Smaller and cheaper pipes
- Lower pumping
power
Thanks to the higher temperatures at the top of the storage tank, less
water has to be tapped. This results in reduced lime deposit and a
cheaper solar circuit as a consequence of the low
flow* operation, which requires smaller pipes and lower pumping
power.
